Men’s Fashion Trends

When it comes to business chic, it’s pretty difficult to find new ways of creating the same designs. It’s always the same: suits, ties, vests, and dress shirts. But there’s more to men’s fashion than suits. There’s a wide range of fashion.

Urban Street Fashion

For the urban dwellers, it’s all about urban fashion which includes Rocawear clothing. This style is casual with quality denim jeans, hoodies, and boldly designed tees. For shoes, high tops are back in style as the ’80s influence this style. Army boots are also popular. Shorts in this style are big and long with large pockets in back. The main purpose of this style is comfortable yet chill.

High Fashion for Men

For men who enjoy expensive suits and looking “in fashion,” the style includes geometric shapes. In Armani’s new collection, just revealed at fashion week in Milan, men’s fashion included jackets with square and diamond designs. The fabrics were all lightweight, ready for spring and summer. The Alexander McQueen collection included suits with skinny pants and tailored jackets. These also sported geometric designs with squares and stripes.

A huge trend found overall was the color blue, including shades of blue. Many designers used this color in their new collections. A longer jacket is also emerging as a trend and can be found collections by designers that include Dolce & Gabbana, John Varvatos, and Corneliani.Â

These two styles are vastly different and you aren’t likely to see someone wearing Rocawear one day and Dolce & Gabbana the next. It’s interesting to see how divergent fashion can be.

Berets

Berets never really came into fashion in the United States. Maybe a few hipsters and beatniks wore them in the early 1900s, but men usually get laughed at when they wear berets now. Hey, some of the most successful men in history wore berets (including Picasso, John Wayne, and Claude Monet), so you’re in good company.

What Tie Knot Should You Use?

Some men care so much about their ties that they wouldn’t dare leave the house without one. Other men only wear ties when they absolutely must. For those of you that don’t know one type of knot from another, it is frustrating to pick out a tie that matches an outfit well. When you know some of the most popular knots, though, you can look like you know what you’re doing, even when you don’t.

The Full Windsor

The full Windsor goes by a few names. Some people call it the “double Windsor” and others simply know the knot as “the Windsor.” No matter what you call it, you should reserve the Windsor knot for special occasions. When you use the Windsor, you get a wide triangular knot that makes a statement. To wear it properly, you will probably need a tie made of thin material, such as silk, and a shirt with a wide collar.

The Half-Windsor

Similar to the full Windsor, the half-Windsor knot takes it down a step without losing the power that you get from a traditional knot. This produces a smaller knot that the full Windsor, so you can use it with a wider variety of ties and shirts. Still, it’s suited for special occasions and important meetings.

The Small Knot

If you have a tie made of thicker material or a shirt with a small collar, then you will want to use the small knot. It doesn’t demand as much attention as the other two knots, but the small knot allows you to incorporate more ties into your fashion.
